Terms of use at Agentic Verification Architecture
What the service is. AVA Pay verifies the cryptographic credentials carried by AI shopping agents (Web Bot Auth, Visa Trusted Agent Protocol, Google AP2) and lets a merchant set policy for verified traffic. AVA Ready scans a public website and reports how it presents to automated agents. Both are provided by Agentic Verification Architecture LLC, Raleigh, North Carolina.
Developer preview. AVA Pay is in developer preview. It is free while in preview. We may introduce paid tiers with notice; nothing you use today converts to a paid plan without your agreement. We may change or withdraw preview features. If we retire the service we will give at least thirty days' notice by email to the address on your account or store.
What a verdict means. A verification result says whether a request was signed by the holder of a key published under a named agent identity, and whether that request satisfied your policy. It does not vouch for an agent's behavior, its operator's intentions, or a buyer's authority to spend, unless the request carried a mandate we verified and said so. When we cannot complete a check, we say so rather than reporting a failure, and the request is not admitted. You remain responsible for your store's decisions and for the policy you configure.
Your responsibilities. Use the service only on stores and sites you control or are authorized to manage. Do not send us data the plugins are designed to strip (cookies, authorization headers, customer or order data); the plugins do this for you and you agree not to work around it. Do not use the service to probe, overload, or interfere with it or with any agent operator's key infrastructure. Do not present our verdicts as anything other than what they are.
Open source. The verifier, plugins, and SDK are published under the MIT license at github.com/AVA-PAY/ava-pay. The license governs the code; these terms govern the hosted service.
Data. Our privacy policy at avalayer.com/privacy describes what we process and keep. It is part of these terms.
Availability and warranty. The service is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We aim for high availability and publish no uptime guarantee during preview. The plugins are designed to fail closed: if the service is unreachable, agents are not admitted and human shoppers are unaffected.
Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, Agentic Verification Architecture LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, which during preview is zero.
Ending use. You can stop at any time by uninstalling the plugin or ceasing API calls; uninstall removes the data the plugin created on your store. We may suspend access for misuse of the kind described above, with notice where practical.
Changes. We will post changes here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify by email. Continued use after the date is acceptance.
Law. These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, United States.
